Muhle Stylo R71 SR Closed Comb Safety Razor – Thuja Grain Wood

From golden brown to ruddy, with subtle or vivid veining in the grain: The burl of the sandarac tree, or Barbary thuja as it is also known, is regarded as one of the most valuable and most beautiful woods in the world. The strongly grained root burl only grows to a respectable size once the tree has died. The tuber is therefore hard to find and to recover. The scantlings are picked by hand and turned. Only sections displaying an exceptionally beautiful grain are used. While being made into handles the wood is stabilised and coated with highgrade resin in a special procedure. This makes it waterresistant and hardwearing. The highgloss surface very expressively accentuates the individual veining of the grain. The blade is held in place by the curvature of the cap and the head of the safety razor does not move. The blades are replaced by unscrewing the cap. The shaving result is dependent on the factors beard growth, the density and length of the beard hair, and how these interact with the blade and safety razor. Some will achieve optimal results with a very sharp blade, while others can profit more from gentler blades. We recommend Muhle’s rustproof razor blades which are the perfect match for Muhle’s safety razors. Usage When shaving, the safety razor should at first be drawn across the skin without applying any pressure at all. Shaving with the grain is often sufficient and renders a second shave in the opposite direction unnecessary. The skin should be stretched taut at all times.
